We keep it free by keeping it focused. We deliberately do not build the expensive things — no in-app phone calls, no money transfer, no large-file storage. That restraint is the business model: a small, sturdy tool costs little to run, so it can stay free for the people who need it. The platform is sustained by optional donations from families who can give, never by charging families who can’t.
And when money is the barrier to safety, we remove the barrier entirely. Hardship and domestic-violence access is automatic — there is nothing to qualify for, because everything is already free.

Everything we build is measured against these. When a shortcut conflicts with one of them, the shortcut loses.
Neutrality
Both parents see the identical record — same messages, same timestamps, same calendar changes. Kinbria takes no side, favors no account, and never quietly shows one parent a different version of events. The record simply reflects what happened.
Honesty
Our verification is open and standards-based, not a trust-us claim. Anyone can independently confirm a record is unaltered on a public page — no login required. We’re equally honest about the limits: we tell you plainly what Kinbria can and cannot see.
Safety
Kinbria is built with survivors in mind. Protected accounts require a second sign-in step, invitations can only be started by a parent, nothing shows when you’re online or have read a message, and you can quickly hide or delete the app when a device isn’t safe. Safety shapes the defaults, not just a settings page.
What Kinbria can and can’t see
A lot of apps imply your messages are hidden from everyone, including them. That’s not true here, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
Your messages are encrypted — scrambled so they can’t be read by outsiders — both while stored and while traveling across the internet. Conversations are visible only to the two parents, the owner and admin at Draco Inc., and anyone a parent invites to view them.
Your messages are protected by strong encryption and tight access control, but they are not hidden from us — and that’s a deliberate choice. If we couldn’t see the content at all, two things would be impossible: the owner being able to access content when duty or law requires it, and our system being able to produce a real, official court record on your behalf. We chose the design that can actually produce a record a court can rely on, and we’d rather say so clearly than let you assume otherwise.
Kinbria is not a law firm and this is not legal advice. Whether any record is accepted is always the court’s decision. Our certified records — sealed, dated official copies anyone can check — are built to prove on their own that they’re genuine, so you shouldn’t need a witness just to confirm the file is real. They’re designed for court, but whether the judge accepts one is up to the judge.
